Have You Ever...

Made a mistake in your checkbook?
Found yourself a little short?
Had unusual or unforeseen expenses at just the wrong time?

RELAX! With Overdraft Privilege Service from Foxboro Federal Savings, you can ...

Avoid high charges from merchants for returned checks.
Avoid the embarrassment of a returned check.
Have more flexibility and convenience in managing your money.

Here is how it works ...

You write a check to a merchant for $250.00
When the bank receives it, your account balance is only $200.
Without the overdraft privilege service, an insufficient fund fee would be charged to your checking account.
The check would be returned to the merchant, who will charge a return check fee to you. ($25Ð$40, or more, is average)
With the overdraft privilege service, the bank will consider payment of your check, as long as the amount needed to cover the check does not exceed the overdraft privilege service limit available ($500).
With the overdraft privilege service you pay only the overdraft fee.
There are no additional return check fees.
You save yourself the embarrassment and the hassle of having a check returned insufficient.

Be smart ...

Use your Overdraft Privilege Service wisely. If you are knowingly using your overdraft account for paying bills and general living expenses, that is a pretty good sign that you are in financial trouble. You may want to seek help getting back on track. The following steps can help get you out of the overdraft cycle:

Stop writing checks until you get your account in balance.
Use money orders for bill paying until the checking account is balanced.
Look at all the places you might be able to cut expenses.
Get professional help planning a budget that you can follow.

Proper care of your checking account ...

The importance of balancing your checking account each month cannot be overstated. Overdraft and Insufficient funds charges can get out of hand and eat up a lot of money in a short period of time if you do not balance your account.

When your checking account is balanced and your checking account register is up to date, the amount you show in your register gives you the confidence of knowing you have sufficient funds available for the purchase you are about to make.
